“Let’s Vote for India” – letter from the head of Shreeji Ceramic

Dear Indian Citizen,

The dance of Indian democracy becomes more attractive and lively during elections when politicians realise the real power to elect them depends in the hands of the people who vote for them or against them and thus define their position post elections.

Present day India is a plagued by so many problems. Industrial growth is at its lowest in last two decades. Corruption has increased to unimaginable proportions, the farmers are in a deplorable state, inflation is uncontrolled, and crime against women is at an alarming high, female foeticide is on the rise, naxalism has spread its wings in 20 states. The list goes on and on.

This 2014 Lok Sabha elections, my sincere appeal to every Indian voters, “Let’s Vote and Make Democracy work for you. It is an appeal to all the people how-so-ever busy, take out a day for a greater cause and vote.”

The DOs and DON’Ts before you vote:
- Do not ask for free rice, sugar, laptop, TV, mobile, gold.
- Do not become a beggar
- They will not give you from their pockets, only public money will be misused and there will be no money for development works.
- Politicians who promises free are not good for nation and want people and nation to remain economically weak.
- Ask them for jobs, that is your right.
- Ask for good road and over bridges.
- Ask for strong law against corruption, terrorism.
- Ask for more educational and research institutes.
- Ask for good medical facility within reach of common man.

Total 814 million voters are registered to take part in India’s general election, a figure that has leapt by 100 million since the country’s last such poll, estimates suggest that around 120 million of them or about 20 per cent, will be first-time voters. The only problem is how to convert all these eligible voters in to actual voters.

This time I will vote for a better India should be the idea that inspires us. We can complain only if we have done something, participated, been the change we want to see. If we want our elected representatives to be accountable and answerable then we too have to be a part of the process, and be accountable ourselves, don’t you agree?

I urge the citizens of India to Pledge to Vote this election. Make your vote count, just think how much market research and soul searching you do before buying a TV, microwave, planning your weekend or invest your money. Your vote is at least as important.

Please don’t waste your vote by not voting or electing non-appropriate candidate. Do well and make sure the ink doesn’t run.

Thank you!

With best wishes
